9/17 - Singing Back the Buffalo

I really enjoyed the movie. My family is from North Dakota and I saw Bison a lot as a kid. My Great Grandfather was a buffalo rancher for a long time, although he retired before I was born. I remember him telling me about how buffalo were really important, how they ensured that grass didn't grow too high, created places for rain to collect and become ponds, and how they provided people food to eat and bones to make tools. It was really cool seeing how Native people of the plains are bringing the buffalo back, even though there are modern obsticles like country borders and land ownership.
